The Berlin chess tournament in the sign of the unicorn

A unicorn as a leading figure for a chess tournament? Perhaps because it reminds of a knight in the form? Oh dear, one does not let this hear the far branched Unicorn fan community! Of Peter S. Beagle "the last unicorn" (e.g. see www.unicorndreamland.de) or the advocate who chooses the unicorn as a logo (see www.rakleine.de) primarily sees all of them the symbolic power being inherent in the unicorn because, whether the admirers. The pure, perfect good, justice and moral virtue, strength of the spirit as well as the "incorruptibility" are part of the mythological aspect of the unicorn, suitable idea for a fair chess tournament. Therefore the traditionally declared as ICT-Open - ELO evaluated tournament - makes use of this symbol since 2002 at the new venue.

Modus: 7 rounds Swiss. The tournament with ELO- and DWZ-evaluation. According to the official FIDE-Rules.

Time: 120 min for 40 moves + 60 min to end - On two days: hanging games with timeout after 4 hours and a restart on the next morning (look at the timetable).
